Inside
- Style: The Chateau is elegantly furnished in a typical French style with a mix of antique and contemporary furniture against a soothing backdrop of cool white walls and grey/blue paintwork. Underfoot, think exposed wood and limestone tiles, with characterful features such as original Charentaise fireplaces, an imposing oak spiral staircase ascending three floors as well as chandeliers in every room.
- Bedrooms: Sink into luxurious beds bedecked with the finest Egyptian bedlinen. There are two double en suite rooms, plus a twin room and double room with a shared family bathroom. Climb out of bed into the softest robes - you'll feel truly pampered.
- For relaxation: The large bright drawing room with views to the front and back gardens is an ideal place to relax with a glass of wine and book. Huge squashy sofas and an original stone fireplace create a luxurious feel. Alternatively, treat yourself to a relaxing massage or just laze by the pool sipping a glass of the local Pineau whilst enjoying the stunning views and peaceful atmosphere.
- For recreation: There is a table tennis table in one of the barns, a croquet lawn, badminton net and boules to keep you amused.
- Practicalities: There's a washing machine and tumble drier at the property.
Outside
Set in nine acres, make yourself at home as you explore the formal gardens, orchard and meadowland. The formal front garden is filled with scented roses, irises, hibiscus, cypress trees, topiary and sculptures. There's a plethora of fruit in the orchard to whcih you can help yourself; from fig, to cherry, plum, quince, nectarine, walnut and apple trees. Recline on a sun longer poolside, or enjoy a BBQ in the sun; this is the perfect property for al fresco dining!

Food and Wine
- DIY: Celebrate in style in the spacious dining room complete with white damask table linen and vintage candelabras . Alternatively, head outside to dine under the huge lime tree in the formal garden or on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool and meadowland.
- In-house cuisine: If you want to have the chance to put your feet up and relax during your stay, then the owner is a trained chef and can create a sumptuous feast using the best of local produce for you.
- Eating out: There are several restaurants in the area, ranging from simple Relais Routiers to more formal eateries which the owner can recommend.
Getting there
- On the map: Located in a very small hamlet 2 miles from a butcher, general store and boulangerie.
- By Car: The chateau is around 4 and a half hours from St Malo, 7 and a half hours drive from Calais.
- By Air: Angouleme is around a 30-min drive from the property, La Rochelle and Poitiers just over an hour and Bordeaux is 1hr and 40mins from the chateau
Out and About
Poitou-Charentes is a sunny and serene land of green meadow lands, sandy beaches, pine forests, romantic marshlands and Romanesque churches overlooking a luminous landscape of cognac vineyards.
- Visit the delightful Medieval town of La Rochelle with its harbourside cafes and shops
- Visit Cognac, the medieval town where the fabled nectar has been created since the 17th century and where the air is permeated by the aroma known as angels share.
- Bordeaux renowned for its world famous wines and vibrant cultural life, is just over an hour away
- Golf courses, tennis courts and horse riding are all available locally
Other local attractions include Futuroscope, the science amusement park and La Palmyre Zoo.
